Curriculum and Degree Requirements Entrance requirements:
You must be in the major you plan to graduate from before you have 30 credits remaining. A 2.5 GPA is required to remain in, and graduate from, the HCA&P Department.
* CSC 115 is acceptable only if already taken.
Guided Electives (upper-division courses ONLY Preferred Guided Electives: HCA 203, HCA 404, HCA 452, HCA 480 Any 300 and 400 level courses in the following programs are acceptable as HCA guided elective courses: Accounting, Business Administration, Business Law, Economics, Finance, Human Resources Management, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Clinical Laboratory Sciences (for dual majors and students changing majors from CLS to HCA), Comprehensive Medical Imaging (for dual majors and students changing majors from CMI to HCA), Gerontology Certificate Program, Nursing (for dual majors and students changing majors from NURS to HCA), Public Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, and Health Education. Humanities These courses will be selected from any literature course offered by the English Department, from foreign languages, history(or ethnic studies if *cross-listed with history), philosophy(except PHI 102, 105, or 109), AAD 201/201D, COM 100, 211, 216, or WMST 113 (or any WMST course *cross-listed with English literature, foreign languages, history, or philosophy). Fine Arts Courses will be selected from AAE 100, AAI 100, AAL 100, ART 160, 101, 107, 111, 112, 135, 260, 261, 216, DAN 100, 101, 103, 104, 165, 166/AAS 166, AAS 175, FIS 100, 110, MUS 101, 121, 125, 127, 129, 130, 134, 176, or THTR 100, 105, 124, 175. Social Sciences One course from three different areas for a total of 9 credits. Courses will be selected from AAS, ETS(except AAS or ETS courses *cross-listed with Dance, English, or History), ANT(except ANT 102), COU 117, 360, CRJ 104, 270, 435, 436, 438, 469, CST 200, ECON, ECG 307, HED 165, 429,435, LAS 101, POS, PSY, EPY 303, SWK 101, SOC, or WMST 113, or WMST courses cross-listed with any of the above areas.
